Almighty Lord and God of love Blessed are the peacemakers Blessed are the poor in spirit Blessed be the Lord God of Israel God so loved the world Greater love hath no man I am the resurrection and the life I am the way If you have faith in God Lay up your treasure in heaven My bow in the clouds My presence shall go before thee One living Trinity Open wide your hands Out of the deep People, look East Rise up my love and come away Sound the trumpet The eyes of all wait upon thee The night is far spent The Spirit of the Lord The Word was made flesh Through Christ Jesus Thy word is a lantern unto my feet When the word goeth forth
FOREWORD One of the great musical pleasures of the BBC morning Service was listening to the BBC Chorus singing the superb introits of Walford-Davies and George Thalben-Ball which used to open the programme. They unfailingly establish the mood of the broadcast in a moving and beautiful manner and these Introits of Ian Tracey, dedicated to the BBC Daily Service Choir, are in the same tradition: short, practical, well crafted and atmospheric. Parishes will find them an ideal 'mood-setters', creating the feelings of prayer and reflection which are essential for Sunday worship. It is unusual to find liturgical music which is so suited to its purpose: the lifting of hearts and minds to the worship of God. Colin Mawby
